Skardu Diaries šŸ—»šŸ—»

You might already know that I went to Skardu. I’ve been sharing my favorite moments from the trip on Instagram.

But in these letters, I love going a little deeper, into what I observed, what I felt, and what I learned.

I went to Skardu just to see the blossoms.

But only when I got there did I realize how wrong all those people are who say, ā€œWhat’s there to see in Skardu?ā€

Skardu is breathtakingly beautiful, deeply peaceful, and so welcoming.

There’s no rush in the air. No overwhelm in nature. And no pressure inside you to keep moving.

I spent hours sitting by Shangrila Lake (I named it the lake of shining waters) reciting the Qur’an, painting, sipping tea, talking, and just… being.

I had the most peaceful nap in a hammock strung between trees, facing snow-kissed mountains.

I even spent one night under a starry sky, lying in a hammock above the river, right outside my little cozy hut. The soft sound of the water, mysterious silence of the mountains, and a blanket of starry sky above me, I’ll never forget it all.

If you know me, you know how fond I am of Urdu poetry. I read Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi by riversides, at breakfast tables, during tea times. And now, rereading those poems will always take me back to Skardu, I’m sure of it.

Everything felt so magical and calming that I don’t think words can ever truly capture it.

And I’m not attaching any pictures either. I want you to use your imagination and feel yourself in Skardu.

One day, you’ll be there, and you’ll remember these words and the way they made you feel, InshaAllah.

Also, one of the most beautiful parts of the trip?

The quiet, the stillness of the place, the lack of crowds.

It felt like Skardu had personally invited a handful of people to witness its charm… and I was lucky to be one of them.

There were hardly any tourists. I could sit outside the hotel for hours without being disturbed, and it was the best thing ever.

Since Skardu isn’t easily reachable by road, and few people prefer air travel, the place was quieter, slower, softer.

And it made me realize something…..something connected to business and life:

Most people never get access to the abundance this world holds.

Not because it’s hidden…

But because they don’t believe they deserve it.

They don’t believe they’re capable of creating a better, easier,Ā more fulfilling life.

Only a few, out of thousands, gather the courage to dream big, and build something of their own that opens doors toĀ experiences like these.

That’s why the majority live an average, crowded, rushed life.

And only a few create and live the life of their dreams.

And no, I’m not shaming anyone.

This isn’t coming from a place of superiority, not at all.

I just want to gently remind you that if you gather the courage to spend a few years building something meaningful, your entire life can change.

You can access a life most people don’t even dare to dream of.

Quoting one of my favorite lines here:

ā€œEntrepreneurs live a few years of their life like most people won’t, so they can spend the rest of their life like most people can’t.ā€

Take this letter as a reminder to keep working on yourself and for yourself.

It might feel messy right now, but keep going, you’re getting closer to a life that feels right. InshaAllah.

You deserve the best life, and you’re going to create it.

Just do your best, and watch how Allah (SWT) makes ways for you.

That’s all for this week.

I’ll write to you again next Saturday.

Until then,

With love,

Tehreem
